Wesley Sneijder has recovered from a knee injury and will play in the club's next Spanish league match against Espanyol.
Madrid coach Bernd Schuster said Saturday that Sneijder was "perfectly recovered" from the left knee injury he picked up in August.
"I'll give Sneijder minutes, we'll see how many, but at least 45," Schuster said. "It's been startling to watch Wesley train the last 10 days, he is perfectly recovered. It's impossible not to recall him because he's training so well."
The 24-year-old Sneijder was expected to be out for at least three months after being challenged by Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby in a pre-season friendly in August.
"I'm ready," Sneijder told Madrid's website. "This is good for me."
The former Ajax player was also called up by Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk for World Cup qualifying matches against Iceland and Norway.

Sneijder back in training

Real Madrid received a fitness boost when Wesley Sneijder started running again on Tuesday after more than five weeks out of action with an injury.

The Dutch forward suffered a blow to the ligaments in his left knee during the pre-season friendly with Arsenal and he was told that he would be out for two months.

With Bernd Schuster having fewer players in his squad that he wanted due to the club's inability to sign a new forward, Sneijder's absence has been even more noticed.

After making his way out on the to pitch at Madrid's Valdebebas training complex, he was applauded by the first team players present.

After being advised that he would not be back until October, Sneijder could be ahead of schedule in his race to regain his full fitness and to start playing again.

Running is another step in his recovery, but the former Ajax star is also having to work almost full-time in the gymnasium with the club's physiotherapists.

Madrid lost their opening game of the season when they were beaten 2-1 by Deportivo in Riazor and, following the international break, entertain Numancia this weekend.

Hour-long tests at a Madrid hospital on Monday showed that Sneijder did not tear ligaments when he was challenged clumsily by Arsenal's Abou Diaby in a preseason friendly match at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
"I am very happy," Sneijder said.
Sneijder's reduced absence means he should be available to play in the latter games of the Champions League group phase, as Madrid aims for a record 10th European Cup title.
The 24-year-old former Ajax player has been preparing for his second season at Madrid, which kicks off with a Spanish Supercup first leg against Copa del Rey winner Valencia on Aug. 17. Madrid's league title defense begins with a trip to Deportivo La Coruna on Aug. 30 or 31

Sneijder-We don't want Ronaldo at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder has said that ace Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is not wanted at the Spanish club because he is a mega-earning bottler.
Dutchman Sneijder said that Ronaldo's massive wages would upset teammates and claimed that Ronaldo "disappeared" before big games for Manchester United. Sneijder said: "It would be bad for the dressing room as he would earn better wages than the rest of the squad. It would not matter to me but I know there are other players who would not like that. Maintaining the stability within the squad is important."
Sneijder thinks the Spanish champions have players as good as Ronaldo, The Sun reported.
"To speak highly of him would be slightly disrespectful to the players that are here and have shown their class. There are already similar players to him here like Arjen Robben," Sneijder said.
"I want Robinho to stay - he is almost the same as Ronaldo. People criticise him a bit and say Robinho does not play well in big games but I've seen Ronaldo disappear in some of United's big games," he added.
Real Madrid is trying to bag Ronaldo from Old Trafford in a 70million pound deal and would pay him around 150,000 pound-a-week.
But Sneijder said that Real should save their cash. He said: "This side doesn't need to make signings."
