It was a day of hello’s and goodbye’s as Real Madrid welcomed Xabi Alonso and bid farewell to Michel Salgado. The defender did not participate in either of the two sessions on Wednesday, while the new midfielder participated in the afternoon workout alongside his new teammates.

Xabi Alonso joined his new teammates on the pitch and received a round of applause as he set foot on the turf. It was a light session for the midfielder, who jogged with the group prior to stretching with fitness expert, Santiago Lozano.
