Air Canada flight EC800 carrying Real Madrid arrived in Toronto at approximately 13:30 local time at Toronto Pearson International Airport, where hundreds of fans welcomed the Real Madrid team to Canada.
Over 200 Madridista fans wearing team shirts and scarves and carrying Real Madrid flags showed up at Pearson International to catch their first glimpse of the players, many of whom signed autographs while exiting the airport.
The nine hours of flight time transpired without incident. Members of the expedition read, listened to music, talked to one another or simply gazed out the window. The aircraft itself was the same model used by NBA teams and that boasts wide seating will plenty of leg room.
The large gathering of fans was just a sign of things to come. Tickets to Friday’s match have been sold out for weeks and BMO Field will be packed to the brim with 20,000 spectators. The friendly has generated so much excitement that tickets have even been sold to tonight’s 19:00 EDT training session.
