Real Madrid trained for more than four hours on Tuesday, but despite the draining workload the team returned to the pitch on Wednesday to continue preparing for the forthcoming season.
The players began their first workout of the day at 8:00 once breakfast was over. Pellegrini conducted an hour-long session dedicated to fitness work. The squad then had time to relax before returning to the pitch at 11:30, by which time fans, mostly kids, lined the entrance to the playing grounds.
The work carried out was very similar to day one. Fitness work and the players' physique is currently the main priority while tactical and technical aspects have taken a back seat. Therefore, after a brief jog, the group was put through an obstacle course designed to increase speed and strength, whereas the ball only appeared towards the latter end of the session.
Mahamadou Diarra and Ruud van Nistelrooy continue with their respective recovery protocols. The two players did increase their rhythm as well and today spent a lot of time lifting weights. Palanca, meanwhile, trained in solitary due to a niggled ligament in his left foot.
